What participants are saying about the IDSJ Summer Institute

November 12, 2022

As we begin preparations for IDSJ’s 2023 Summer Institutes in New York and Connecticut, Shanelle and I want to take a moment to thank everyone who provided thoughtful praise and feedback on IDSJ 2022.

“By far one of the best four-day professional development [experiences] I have attended on Diversity and Social Justice and one of the best overall. It was engaging, interactive, challenging, liberating, and provided a lot of new knowledge, time for brainstorming and application. Worth every dime and time,” said Nicole Session, a SEL teacher in New York City’s public school system.

For Clare Ng, a high school teacher in the Monmouth County Vocational School District in New Jersey, IDSJ 2022 was “an intensive 4-day critical examination into how K-12 educators can make meaningful strides towards teaching diversity and social justice issues!” Reflecting the bonds of friendship and common purpose that participants build with one another during the Institute, Clare added: “I’m so grateful for this chosen family!”

Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at the Berkshire School Jonathan Speer called IDSJ the “best leadership and professional development around.”

Along with the data showing IDSJ’s effectiveness, these testimonials are a sign that we’re doing something really right with our Summer Institute series. We’re thrilled to be continuing it in 2023. Click here for details on how to join us in New York or Connecticut in summer 2023!
